Internships and Co-ops
Students have the opportunity to participate in paid program-related work placements while working toward their degrees. A co-op or internship term typically begins in May, September, or January and can be 4, 8, 12, or 16 months in length. For information specific to each faculty, please see further details below.

Faculty of Business and Information Technology:
To be eligible for the Business and Information Technology Internship program, students must be completed their second-year courses and maintain a minimum 2.3 cumulative GPA each semester at the time of registration in the internship course.
Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science:
To be eligible for an internship, students must be completing year three of a four-year program, or year four of a five-year program, and meet the minimum 2.3 cumulative GPA requirement. Students may apply for co-op positions from the end of year one.
Faculty of Science:
To be eligible for the Science co-op program, students must be in their second year of studies or above and meet the minimum requirement of 2.7 cumulative GPA. Students would begin to apply for opportunities for the summer term after the second year of study.
Faculty of Social Science and Humanities:
An internship is typically 8 to 16 weeks in duration and must be at least 280 hours of continuous employment, up to a maximum of 16 consecutive months. To qualify, a student must be in clear academic standing, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (B), and have completed 84 credit hours (fourth year standing) in their program of study.

To register for a co-op or internship, please log in to the Student Life Portal.
On the left-hand side, select Co-op & Internship and proceed to select your program. Please note that you must meet the eligibility requirements for your faculty. Once you have completed the registration process your application will be reviewed and approved before you gain access to the co-op/internship job postings.
